FAQ
When is the best time to do a maternity session?
We recommend between 27 and 32 weeks. That way you (should) have time before baby arrives and you have the cute baby bump to showcase, and you haven't reached the point of being too uncomfortable yet.
What is the difference between fresh 48 and a birth session?
Birth sessions usually start when you are about 5cm dilated. We document from the time we get there until about an hour after the baby is born. Fresh 48 is taken when you are still in the hospital but is more focused on baby and not the actual birth! Usually the day after baby is born when everyone has a little moment to rest.
What about covid regulations?
Sadly, some hospitals are still having covid protocols that won't allow many visitors. That can also mean we won't be allowed in there for birth sessions or even fresh 48. This is something you need to speak with your doctor and hospital about! n
